Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention
Discover the benefits of tai chi in a welcoming, supportive 8-week series at the Machias Arts Center.
Presented in partnership with Healthy Acadia, Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention uses gentle, flowing movements and mindful breathing to help improve balance, strength, flexibility, and confidence.
While the program is especially beneficial for people with arthritis, you do not need to have arthritis to participate. The class is appropriate for anyone interested in supporting their health and wellness through tai chi. Healthy Acadia describes its Tai Chi for Health programming as suitable for people of all ages and physical abilities and taught using an easy, step-by-step approach.
What You'll Explore
Through regular practice, participants will learn gentle tai chi movements designed to connect mind and body while supporting balance, posture, strength, relaxation, and overall well-being.
The class meets for one hour each Friday for eight weeks, giving participants an opportunity to build familiarity and confidence with the movements over time.
