About Christmas in Machias
Christmas in Machias celebrates the season in the heart of downtown Machias as the community comes together for a festive day filled with holiday cheer. The Pellon Center will be transformed into a bustling winter marketplace featuring local artisans, handcrafted gifts, food and drink, live music, demonstrations, and a kids' craft area.
There will be plenty of surprises throughout the day, and of course, a visit from Santa!
A full schedule of events will be posted soon. Local makers, bakers, artists, and small businesses are encouraged to apply and be part of this beloved holiday tradition.

Rings and Strings: A Christmas Concert
Rings and Strings is a dynamic, acoustic music duo of husband-and-wife team Gordon Thomas Ward and Veronica Ward that is breaking new ground and the mold for handbells. Their dynamic performances blend Gordon's original compositions with a few classic songs, which are highlighted through Gordon's vocals and guitar and Veronica's handbells. For the Christmas season, Rings and Strings fills their setlist with traditional and original Christmas songs and readings filled with imagery and emotion. The result is an innovative and expressive blend of musical styles – fresh, thoughtful, and always heartfelt. It's a perfect addition to your Christmas tradition!

This event showcases the talented artists, makers, and creative businesses of the Machias Arts Council. Current MAC members receive priority consideration. If you're not currently a member, don't worry! You're welcome to apply. If your application is accepted, we'll provide information about becoming a MAC member before your booth space is confirmed.
