Creative Sessions
Our Creative Sessions bring together a rotating mix of ongoing programs that nurture creativity, movement, and connection throughout the week. These gatherings offer a steady, welcoming space to slow down, try something new, and build creative habits alongside others. Whether you’re drawn to hands‑on making, mindful practices, or simply the joy of showing up regularly with a supportive community, our sessions are designed to meet you where you are. Explore the offerings below to find the rhythm that fits your life.

Open Studio
Wednesdays, 4pm-8pm (Starting June 3)
Starting in June 3rd, join us every Wednesday from 4–8 PM for an easygoing, come‑as‑you‑are creative session. Bring a project you’re working on or start something new in our shared studio space. We’ll have a variety of art supplies available, or you’re welcome to bring your own.
Create, connect, and get inspired by the artists around you. Free and open to all.

Textile Tuesday
Tuesday, May 19, 5:30pm
Textile Tuesday is a low-key hangout where you can work on your fiber projects, share knowledge, and make friends. Bring a project to work on or one that has you stumped — we'll see if we can help! All textile mediums and all skill levels welcome.
We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Writers Circle
Last Monday of the Month, 5pm
Still wrestling with that half‑finished novel or staring at a notebook full of half‑formed poems? Feeling stuck, stalled, or spectacularly unmotivated?
Join our new writers’ circle: Shut Up and Write (affectionately known as The Procrastinators).
The Machias Arts Council is gathering writers of all genres to simply… get the work done. We’ll meet on the last Monday of each month at 5 p.m.
Together we’ll share works‑in‑progress, offer gentle critiques, develop characters and settings, break through blocks, and swap tips on publishing and process.
The group is free to attend; donations to support the Center are always appreciated.
