Share your work with the Downeast Maine community in a welcoming, professional gallery setting. Whether you’re an emerging artist or an established creator, MAC offers a space to exhibit your work, connect with visitors, and grow your audience.

How It Works

Submit a small selection of images
Choose a commission structure that fits your work
Once accepted, bring in up to six pieces for display

We take care of hanging, labeling, and presentation so you can focus on creating.

Commission Options

Option 1: Member with Sitting Requirement — Become a Machias Arts Council member for $25/year and commit to an average of 2 gallery sittings per month. Commission rate: 25%.
Option 2: Member without Sitting — Become a Machias Arts Council member for $25/year with no sitting requirement. Commission rate: 35%.
Option 3: Non‑Member — No membership or volunteer requirement. Commission rate: 40%.

Featured Artist of the Month

Gallery artists may be selected for our Featured Artist spotlight, which highlights your work across our website and social media. This program introduces your art to new audiences and celebrates your creative story within the MAC community.

Workshops & Demonstrations

Gallery artists have the opportunity to lead demonstrations and hands-on workshops, sharing techniques, skills, and creative processes with the community. It’s a meaningful way to engage with visitors and expand your visibility as an artist.
