Direct Method Mosaic Workshop
Saturday, August 29 & Saturday, September 12
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Discover the timeless art of mosaic while creating your own handcrafted 8" × 10" mosaic in this two-session workshop led by mosaic artist Paul Lilley.
Designed for beginners and anyone curious about mosaic art, this hands-on class introduces the Direct Method of mosaic construction. You'll learn each step of the process—from preparing your surface and transferring a design to cutting, placing, and grouting tiles—while creating a finished piece to take home.
Because every student receives personalized instruction, enrollment is limited to just six participants.

Prepare your mosaic board
Transfer your design

Place tiles using professional best practices
Between sessions, you'll complete your tile placement at home using the provided materials and loaned tools.

Learn proper grouting techniques
Finish and clean your mosaic
Receive instructions for the final curing and polishing process at home

Please bring a simple 8" × 10" design or pattern you'd like to recreate. A selection of beginner-friendly designs will also be available if you prefer to choose one provided during class.
