RA Riddell

RA Riddell is the photographer behind the _und3rgr0und, a creative project focused on documenting the people, places, and moments found throughout Downeast Maine.

Working in both 35mm film and digital photography, RA approaches photography as a practice of observation—finding art in the unnoticed and capturing the details that might otherwise pass by.

With a focus on everyday life and the surrounding landscape, the _und3rgr0und reflects a quiet appreciation for the character and atmosphere of the region. Each image is an opportunity to pause, look closer, and discover something meaningful in the ordinary.

RA’s photographic work has received recognition through Leica Fotografie International, with two exposures selected for inclusion in the LFI gallery.

My Story

Finding Art in the Unnoticed

I document anything and everything around Downeast Maine.

My photography is about paying attention—to the moments, places, and details that are easy to miss. I find art in the unnoticed, in the quiet scenes that exist all around us.

Through both 35mm film and digital photography, I explore the world as I see it and capture pieces of life as they happen.

The _und3rgr0und is my way of sharing those observations—the things that catch my eye, the moments that feel worth remembering, and the beauty found in the everyday.

My Artistic Journey

Photography has always been about seeing for me. It is about looking beyond what is immediately obvious and finding something more.

My work continues to evolve through the process of simply living, observing, and documenting. I am always working on the next image, the next moment, and the next discovery.

Recognition

Two of my photographs were selected for the Leica Fotografie International gallery, an unexpected recognition and a reminder that even quiet observations can resonate beyond where they began.
