Carl began writing during his first year of undergraduate school and quickly developed a lifelong commitment to the craft. His passion grew through early publication success and the experience of having his original stage play produced, leading him to continue creating stories that explore human experiences, possibilities, and perseverance.

In addition to his screenwriting work, Carl is the author of Disturbing Visions, a published collection of award-winning short screenplays. His creative process often begins through conversations with producers, refining concepts before developing the story and working alongside directors to bring the final vision to life.

Inspired by life in Downeast Maine, time near the water, and the quiet moments found in everyday experiences, Carl continues to create stories that encourage audiences to see new possibilities and never give up on their dreams.

My Story

Bringing Ideas to Life One Story at a Time

I am a professional screenwriter and playwright based in Jonesport, Maine. For me, storytelling begins with an idea — a conversation, a concept, or a vision that grows through collaboration. I enjoy working with producers to explore possibilities, shape a story, and create something we both believe in.

Once the foundation is set, I return to the part of the process I love most: writing. Whether creating a screenplay or a stage play, I work to bring characters and stories to life in a way that connects with audiences.

I have ten produced screenplays to my credit, along with published and award-winning works. My favorite creations are the ones that remind people there are always other possibilities and that dreams are worth pursuing.

My Artistic Journey

I began writing during my first year of undergraduate school and have continued ever since. I took writing seriously from the beginning, but my commitment deepened when I was first published and then grew even stronger after my original stage play was produced.

Over the years, I have continued developing stories for film and stage, working with producers and directors to bring ideas from the first spark of inspiration to the finished production.

Living in Downeast Maine provides a perfect environment for creativity — the relaxed pace, friendly people, and inspiration found near the water all influence my work. For me, writing is about exploration, imagination, and creating stories that have something meaningful to say.
