Join us at the Machias Arts Center during First Friday Art Night for a reception celebrating our August Artist of the Month, Becky Lee of Marshfield, Maine.
Becky's colorful new collection is inspired by Downeast Maine and long, carefree days at camp—a joyful celebration of summer, color, and the places that inspire her.
Her exhibit features a collection of what Becky calls "camp flags," with pieces ranging from approximately 10 × 16 inches to 16 × 42 inches. Each work is created using recycled cotton, with pieces featuring either hand-painted original screen prints or dye and paint.
One of the featured designs, Bold Coast Sardines, draws inspiration from Maine's historic sardine canning industry.
In addition to her original artwork, Becky will showcase her hand-screen-printed shirts and hoodies, offering visitors another way to experience her distinctive style.
